Dear Esteemed Colleague,

The new year has started with hope and feeling of great responsibility to improve our performance at both professional and personal levels. One should keep track of targets and goals periodically and make necessary course corrections if needed.

Our Telugu Department conducted very important event on Telugu Literature on 9th January. Dr S V Krishna Rao of ANU, Dr P Syamalananda Prasad of Syed Appala Swamy College and Prof M Ravi Kumar of SVU delivered wonderful lectures on various facets about Telugu literature.

Student association of BBA course SAMS organised ‘Magnova 2K18’ on 20th January with lot of fun and flair. Dr R Manoj Kumar, Member Secretary of National Council of Rural Institutes, Ministry of HRD delivered the inaugural address.

Siddhartha Management Club of Commerce Department organised ‘Convergence 2018’ on 31st January. Dr P Venkata Seshaiah, Chairman & MD, PVS Group inaugurated the meet. He narrated his entrepreneurial journey which is very inspiring.

Happy to announce that 55 students of MBA course successfully completed their MOOCs courses as a part of their generic courses. I strongly recommend that every student of our college must do at least one course per year in their chosen disciplines. This will greatly enhance their self-learning ability. 

Sri G Sambasiva Rao, MD, Sravan Shipping Services Private Ltd, and presently addressed MBA students and discussed contemporary management issues.

Dear Valued Colleague,

Congratulations to Dr Madhu, Department of Chemistry for getting Sri Chukkapalli Pitchaiah Memorial ‘Best Teacher – 2017’ award which is being presented on 1st February by SAGTE. Sports Day was also celebrated on the same day. Mr Ch. Arun Kumar, Hon. Gen. Secretary, Andhra Cricket Association was the Chief Guest. All the students who have shown proficiency in various sports and games were honoured with medals and cash prizes.  


‘Vibhaava 2018’ State Level Techno-Cultural Post Graduate Student Meet was organised by Department of Computer Science. Mr Srikanth Sreenivasan, Regional Director, NASSCOM, AP & Telengana Region was the Chief Guest at the inaugural function.


We celebrated 43rd Annual Day function on 3rd February. Prof SV Raju, Chairman, APSCHE was the Chief Guest. The occasion symbolises the long legacy of our institution. Many cultural shows were presented by students.


Alchemy the student association of Chemistry organised ‘Chemcolloquium-2k18’ with the theme – ‘Science is the poetry of reality’ on 8th February.


Department of Physics had organised Lecture Workshop on ‘Topology and Quantum Mechanics’ during 9-10 February. Three National Academies collectively sponsored the event. Renowned scientists including Prof HS Mani, Prof VV Sreedhar, Prof MVN Murthy from Mathematical Institute, Chennai and Prof KP Yogendran, IISER, Tirupati delivered technical lectures.


Department of Business Administration organised ‘Kurukshetra 2018’ state Level Management Student meet on 10th February. Captain VVM Krishna, MD, IMIS laboratories was the Chief Guest. Mr Parimi Rama Sankar, Director, Core Global was the Guest of Honour. This even is being organised continuously for the last 24 years.


Photography Club presented ‘Photo Fiesta2K18’ which is an event tested the innate skills of participants in Monochrome, Fashion, Nature and Commercial Photography on 17th February. Short Films and Commercials were also shortlisted for prizes.  



An invited talk was organised on 21st February about understanding of Bloom's Taxonomy which classify educational learning objectives into levels of complexity and specificity. Prof Padmanabha Raju, Department of Freshman Engineering, PVPSIT was the resource person.


To improvise the artistic and creative skills among girl students Women's Club in association with Pidilite Industries Limited had organized a three day  ‘Fevicryl Workshop’ during 7-9  February. 30 students were trained in Fabric painting, Pot painting, Glass painting and Jewellery making. This training paves way to amplify the opportunities for self-employment even with low capital.


Campus Placement Drives were conducted by the following organisations during the month:

  • Redington (19th February)
  • ICICI Prulife (20th February)


Chemical Association organised Guest Lecture on ‘Memory, Study & Exam Techniques, How to be successful in Life’ on 24th February by Sheik Anwar, Certified Professional Memory & Personality Development Trainer. He is also alumnus of the college.


Department of English organised Seminar on Post-Colonial Literature on 26th February. Dr K V Raghupathi, Professor, Central University of Tiruvarur delivered the keynote address. Prof S Krishna Sarma our former colleague was the Resource Person in Technical Sessions. The seminar touched many aspects of post-colonial literature emphasised by many experts.


Rajesh C Jampala- wish and hope that all the faculty members are geared up to contribute insights and information to prepare our institution’s NAAC Self Study Report for reaccreditation.

Dear Fraternal Colleague,

Women Empowerment Cell organised Women’s Day Celebrations on 8th March. Smt V Krishna Kumari, Chairman, Velagapudi Foundation narrated her life experiences and motivated girl students not to lose confidence when chips are down. Smt Kalarani, SAP Professional from USA and Smt V Sasi Kala, Member, SAGTE addressed the gathering. Unaided Teaching Staff Association also conducted events and gave prizes to women staff. 

Department of Computer Science organised Seminar on Cyber Hygiene & Opportunities in Cyber Security on 15th March in association with Computer Society of India. Mr Shahid Modem, VP, Training and Mr Mayank Acharya, CFO of Anastomosis were the Resource Persons.

Girl Students of M.Com attended Wo’Mentor’2018 Awareness Programme on Waste Management & Menstrual Hygiene organised by Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (CoWE) of India, AP Chapter on 16th March at Siddhartha Auditorium.

Congratulations to the Department of Chemistry for organising ‘National Seminar on ‘Novel Chemical Strategies for Sustainable Environment’ NCSSE-2018 on 22nd March. Sri BSS Prasad, Chairman, APPCB was the Chief Guest. Dr B Madhusudhana Rao, Joint Chief Environmental Engineer, APCCB was the Guest of Honour. Dr M Chandrasekharam, Principal Scientist, Dr Rajesh Chandra, Senior Scientist from IICT, Hyderabad were the resource persons. Prof M V Basaveswara Rao, Krishna University and Prof G Devala Rao, Pricipal, KVSR Siddhartha College of Pharmaceutical Sciences were the Guests at Valedictory Session.

Dr T V Rao, Chairman, TVRLS Ltd, Founder, National HRD Network, Former Professor at  IIM Ahmedabad delivered invited talk on ‘Taking HR to Next Orbit’ on 26th March. Mr.P V Krishna Rao, Executive Coach and Strategic HR Consultant, Founder CEO, Peepal HR Associates, Professor (HR & OD), Centre for Organization Development, Hyderabad,   Mr.Paritosh Sharan, Master NLP Trainer, Executive Coach and Licenced Predictive Index Practitioner, Founder & CEO, TransHuman Consulting, Hyderabad,  Ms. Jayati Tapadar, Manager HR Clove Dental and Mr. RK Dinavahi, Head Corporate Affairs, DBAce Technologies, Hyderabad were the panel speakers at the HR session organised in association with National HRD Network, Vijayawada Chapter. Large number of industry delegates attended the programme.

Sri Kodali Sambasiva Rao, Former Principal, SVRM College, Nagaram conducted ‘Orientation Programme on How to upload RAR to NAAC’ on 29th March to the faculty members.


Alumni Corner:

We are very proud to invite our alumni Dr. Sriram Gullapalli, Scientist, Gas Hydrate Research Group, Geological Oceanography Division, CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography, Goa to our college to deliver talk on  ‘Oasis in the deep Ocean ( Cold Seeps) Gas Hydrates a Future Energy’ on 31st March. He was awarded with the prestigious young scientist award by Chief Minister of AP recently.

Rajesh C Jampala-congratulate the 33 Commerce and Business Administration students who secured offers for placement from HCL State Street Services Ltd. We thank APNRT for training our students in employability skills.

Warm Greetings!

We place on record our deep appreciation to Dr. Ankamma Choudary our former colleague who is elevated as SAAP Chairman in recognition to his professional and leadership skills.

Department of Business Administration organised ‘Workshop on Operations of Mutual Funds’ on 4th April. Mr Badri Nath, Branch Manager, Aditya Birla Sunlife was the resource person. Farewell for MBA Batch 2018 was organised by their juniors on 6th April.  As a part of it ‘Industry Interaction Meeting’ was conducted. Ms. D.Aparna, MD, Aparna Jute Creations, Mr K Tarun Kumar, CEO, Amaravati Boating and Chairman, Young Indians (Amaravati Chapter), CII shared their entrepreneurial journey and provided much needed insights about the dynamics of Business Environment.

Sri P Lakshman Rao Garu, Secretary, SAGTE addressed our faculty on 17th April and stressed the need for more focused approach in preparing for NAAC Reaccreditation process.

BoS Meetings of various undergraduate programmes were held during the month and the recommendations were forwarded to the Academic Council.

Forty MBA students got certified in various courses under MOOCs platform including NSE NCFM Modules, EdX, etc. Buzz is around Exams, Evaluation and Lab Practical’s during the month in various PG programmes. Pool Campus Drive by HCL Technologies was organised on 21st April.

Faculty members are oriented about the importance of ‘Learning Management Systems’ and many of them prepared e-content, PPTs, Videos relating to their respective subjects. Students are to be encouraged towards self-learning mode and the necessary inputs have to be given from our side.

Rajesh C Jampala- hope the necessary preparation about NIRF and NAAC procedures helped us in getting the right perspective about the future course of direction.
